Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe 1st T20 Match Information
The 1st T20I opens Afghanistan's home series against Zimbabwe in the UAE. All three T20 internationals will be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium before the tour moves into a two-match Test series.
Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe 1st T20 Preview
Afghanistan have a balanced T20I group built around aggressive top-order batting and a varied spin attack. Rahmanullah Gurbaz can set the pace in the powerplay, while Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad give the hosts several options through the middle overs.
Zimbabwe's response will depend heavily on the experience of Sikandar Raza and the ability of their seamers to control Sharjah's short boundaries. Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani can provide early momentum, with Blessing Muzarabani offering pace and bounce with the new ball.
The teams met four days earlier in the ODI tri-series final, where Afghanistan chased 170 with seven wickets and 93 balls remaining. The switch to T20 cricket changes the tempo, but that result gives the hosts useful momentum before the series opener.
